June 16 Enderby to Revelstoke
111+6 riding around town
We enjoyed the campground except for the raucous crow that started calling the racoons to open our bags. He must have started at 4 o'clock. When no racoon showed up to help him liberate our food he headed off down the river. While we could still hear him it was quiet enough to drift off to sleep again. We got up at about 6:30. I made us some coffee and as we sipped it we packed the the stuff. We were on our way for breakfast by 8:00. We lucked out and found the happening coffee shop. There we had a muffin served with fresh fruit.. We got away by 8:30 which apparently was 5 minutes earlier than yesterday. We needed it too as there was n
o hill to coast down to start our day. The almost flat ride seemed a bit tougher than yesterday as we had no tail wind and often encountered a bit of head wind. We stopped at the rest area on Mara Lake where Rob rearranged his bags trying to eliminate the flex in his bike. While he did this I visited with a gentleman who stopped to eat his cinnamon bun. He approached us asking us if we might be a little bit off the norm. After a few laughs we each carried on in our own direction. Shortly after, we arrived in Sicamous where we spotted a Subway. Not having any crab meat I settled for a Tuscany chicken and had half there and half wrapped to go. Just before Craigalachie a fellow named David, from Montreal, caught up to us. He's riding a mountainbike but due to his age, 35, he's much faster than we are. He's heading across Canada by himself so he's feeling a bit lonely. We're camped together at the Lamplighter campground in Revelstoke. It wasn't easy getting here as we hit a thunderstorm that left us wet and cold.
